So just about ready to place a order to WLT for some product.... I was wondering how best to do it. I’m in Saskatchewan. I am thinking around 6 pounds and a budget grinder, which is well under the 3kg and 6 pounds gets a better shipping deal. But was curious if I should do it in two orders and keep it around 150 Canadian each to help with the duty charges . I’m not sure if that applies with Canada post or if you guys have noticed much of a difference? On another note I’m new at this whole leaf thing and very excited. I see by reading around that Don and some of you guys put a lot of time and effort into coming up with the WLT mixed cigarette blends so figure I will go with a couple different of those, to make up my 6 pounds and mix match and experiment. I’m not fussy and do like American cigarettes whenever I’ve had the opportunity to have some. Thoughts? My apologies for such a long winded post.

In general, a good place to search is in the Tobacco News and Law forum. Here are a couple of hits:

There were no other charges. I got a notice in my mailbox that I needed to go to the post office and pay $35.00 to pick up my parcel. I knew it was the tobacco.

I am very happy with all the stuff I've gotten from WLT. I expect you will be too, certainly after blending to suit your taste.

So I know new guys like me probably run your patience up but the last question about leaf, Im new at this and due to price up here just buy whatever chemical added too tobacco that’s cheapest , bought a 50g pouch and 2 packs of zig zag Rollie’s was over 40 bucks. Anyways looking at getting a few pounds of the Virginia blend select and maybe America old style blend to start, but then eye ball the sampler pack ,maybe with a extra pound of Virginia as I see on most of you guys recipes ,I’d probably want it with all that selection.... ya I’m torn and thinking out loud lol intend to order here in a few days to a week , just gotta make it out to civilization first.

According to the Canadian government there are limits to the amount you can import 3 kg per order and 15 kg per year. Some people adhere to this. I smoke a pipe and bought 24 pounds in 18 months and still have 6 months worth of baccy left, it cost me around $10 dollars a week Canadian to fill my pipe in Canada this would cost around $70.
Thanks to this forum and WLT,

During the sale I paid 30.40 for 12lbs I do it every year. I just copy and paste the invoice to customs. Every year it goes through a new area on the border. As long as you stay within your yearly limit your fine. Ex shipping was 70 dollars for 4 lbs is 60 dollars. Big savings
