To my knowledge, no one sells Nicaraguan Jalapa seed. I currently have a tiny quantity of Jalapa seed--a 1936 lineage. (No give aways.) I'll be growing it for 2012, and will make seed available to the seed bank in the fall of 2012, if it is successful. I don't know how it will grow or what it will produce. Unfortunately, most of the tobacco grown in the Jalapa Valley is Cuban seed tobacco, so a so-called Jalapa cigar could contain none of the Jalapa varietal. The town of Jalapa also contains a number of cigar factories, just to confuse the matter.
