That looks like quite the harvest, obviously you aren’t going smoke all of that soon. How do you store it or what do you do with that much just jar it or press it? Anyways looks a lot better than my string of immature mud leaves I have hanging in the kitchen lol.

:) You are right Slouch its a great harvest this year ..I have to try to control myself next year...for storing I just use what I have... I have a sweet tooth and from that about 30 plast containers 1;5 l and 6 big one ..11 L from fish feed . or jeg just use plastik bags ...Im afraid of mold ..so Im storing it to dry I think (not aging) but better safe than sorry  I will learn it at time goes by.

You should mix up a few ounces of your favorite blend and put it in a jar w a little moisture and mix it around and let the air in the container every couple days and test it out. Would be cool to see how it compares to the same blend the way you are storing it now in a couple months. Anyways that’s a lot of tobacco hopefully I can get close to that yeild sooner rather than later.

@cavedane – Wow! This is an awesome grow blog. What you have is what I'm trying to establish for myself over the next year or two (this was my first year). You've got some beautiful plants, and such a clean and organized curing den; very nice. Danish pipe tobacco is some of the best in the world; looks like you're keeping up the tradition! Bravo.

Out of curiosity, are you blending your finished tobacco for pipes, or for cigarettes?

Thats also my opinion manfisher ...I have put them in their own bag ..for later eksperiment:)
@manfisher might be right about that. Candela cigar wrappers are green, and they're made by flue-curing at very high temperatures. I would guess that during the first few days of curing when the leaf was still green, the temperature got just high enough to "lock in" some of that chlorophyll. If it were a mold or fungus growing inside of the plant, you probably would've noticed it while it was growing.

Funny...I am actually trying to get some green-cured tobacco (like Candela wrappers) to make dry nasal snuff with. For many years, a tobacco grower and snuff maker from Germany was famous (among snuff-takers) for making this beautiful green snuff—which you can see in my avatar picture. He used a method of high-heat flue curing to achieve that green color.

Do you ever make any cigarette blends with oriental leaf? I’ve always been a fan of Turkish blend smokes.

Last yer I had some turkish ...They grow way to big in the soil ...I might have some next yer in containers ...to control them .:)
How were you spacing them?I was reading on here they have to be closer together in order to grow a desirable size leaf. Was going to plant them 3x4ft like the burley and Virginia but I decided with 2x1ft staggered rows would be better. Still might be too much space but for the amount of plants I’m growing a little bigger yield might be good.
