Hi Don, just want to thank you and your team for a quick shipment an hour after ordering, looking forward to get into this hobby when it gets here. Would you happen to know if there are any limits one can import in a shipment or a max in a year into BC Canada?
Canadian law states the maximum a resident over the age of 18 is allowed to import is 15 kilograms. Nobody keeps track of these numbers though. We shipped 50 lb. boxes many times without any issues. Ontario has a 3 kilo max per order.

I think that would have been more clear if you used a colon, instead of a comma after statement.

I can't speak for Don, but it took me a while to figure out what you were actually saying there. Edit: I thought you were saying my statement was non political. Maybe my reading skills are lacking due to lack of sleep.

In an attempt to avoid talking about ideals and major economic theories, I would say the hardest part is when how much you have to pay changes. I value tobacco enough to pay the price and/or put in the work and grow it myself. I would do a lot more for tobacco than for cabbages, I can tell you that.

Tobacco is very special. I feel like I disrespect it and the grower a little if I expect it to be cheap.

Knowing what other countries pay is kind of annoying, but ultimately, it's the disproportionate increases that always get you because it disrupts the norm; changes your world.
No, I wasn't very clear. I meant I was glad I'm in America and not having to pay some of the insane taxes and having the import issues that others have to deal with.
I imagine all the red tape gets very frustrating for both the business and the customer in a lot of cases.

There was a local tobacco blender/manufacturer who simply quit and afaik burned all his recipes out of that frustration.

I recently had to look up the meaning of IBTL which I saw in another forum. Someone decided to start a thread about a certain head of state's health condition.
Cringing, but I have to ask after looking that up, I beat the lock?
Yes, that certain head of state is someone I would hope and pray for the speedy recovery of regardless of political party since he is our president. Much of the world relies on certain countries providing safety and security, which comes at a very, very great cost to us and others. Those that have served are truly worthy of respect.

It's my fault that this conversation went on this direction.

It appears you were in before the lock. I'm not going to actually lock this. I'm just going to ask everyone to exercise self-control and not respond further, except to reassure @greygoose that his tobacco will come and that there won't be any surprises.

Just got an email that my order cleared customs and on the way to me, roughly $40 for 10 pounds and a mold. Thanks for the assurance @ChinaVoodoo! Will show pics of my sticks in the other thread, cheers all!

LOL. I just put a post in my grow log saying I received my package today. 13 days. No duty.

Lucky buggers...

Now that our 'nanny' state has decided that we should no longer be allowed to import wholeleaf (yet still happily allows branded tobacco and cigarettes to be freely sold (with the imposed 500% tax)), I am eeking out my remaining leaf...
