I'll give the remainder another week or so to mature. As each sun-curing leaf is cured, I pluck it off the hanging stalks, and toss it into a bushel basket in the shed. When rain threatens, the hanging stalks that have just green or living yellow leaf get left out on the line. Stalks with leaf that is partially cured get moved into the shed.

I have tobacco leaf that needs priming. I usually eat lunch every day at noon. This morning, at 11:00 am, I checked the weather forecast for today. It is so precise that it even includes a convincing graph of what and when. Rain should begin at about 5:30 pm. Not sure what they meant, I fed the forecast into Google Translate (setting it to "Detect Language"). It selected a language I may have heard of before, called "BS". The English translation was: "If you wait until after lunch, it will have already rained, and your leaf, Bob, will be dripping wet."

I immediately went out and primed my leaf, about 60 or 70 of them, and strung them, hanging it in the shed. After scrubbing my hands, I made my peanut butter sandwich, and carried it out to the front porch. The instant I sat down, I could hear rain pattering on the nearby plants.

Below are the most severely runted Corojo 99 from the two beds that were overtaken by (that I allowed to be overrun by) weeds—mostly grass. There are 6 decent stalks from those beds that are still maturing out in the garden.

Primings of several varieties:

Below, 3 Machu Picchu Havana stalks in the back, and 4 "Pieate" stalks in front.

Remaining in the garden are 18 Corojo 99 stalks, 8 Ainaro stalks and 9 or 10 Prilep 66-9/7 stalks.

When I prime my tobacco leaf, I place each leaf into a tidy pile inside a 1020 mesh tray, which makes the leaves easier to carry to my front porch. That's where I string them, while seated in a comfortable chair in the shade. Today, the 5 dozen mid-stalk leaves from my happy Corojo 99 plants were a bit longer than the 20" of the 1020 tray, and overhung both sides by an inch or two. Conclusion: they are averaging about 20+ inches X 13-14 inches.

Corojo 99 is a 6-7 foot tall (to the crowfoot), columnar plant, so the leaf size varies little from bottom to top. Only the very top leaf is smaller. I still have the upper half of them to prime.

It's been only 3 hours since I walked down my porch steps. In that interval, a spider has constructed an 8 foot web that spans the front of the porch, about a foot beyond the verge. If she can snag a few mosquitos, and maybe a Kamikaze moth or two, that would be nice.

[Unit conversion: 12" American = ~4 BICs Redneck]

This is 30 mid-stalk leaves from my 8 Ainaro plants. The lower-stalk leaves are air-curing in the shed (experiment), while these will be sun-cured. Today I also cut 2 more Prilep 66-9/7 stalks that had leaned down over the lawn. That makes 12 stalks cut, and only 9 more to go (from my 16 Prilep plants—apparently due to a loss of math skills after remote learning).

Well, this one had 200,000 miles, so it was due for a new timing chain and serpentine belts. So my $1650 grew to about $2500 total, which I was expecting. My very first new car (1969 Chevy Nova) cost $2100 (car payments ~$63 / month). So my brain is kind of stuck in that price range.

I got her a 2008 Subaru Impreza for 2500 with 140000 neglected miles on it.
Replaced the cat converter on it 800 bucks.
Next I got to do is head gaskets, Timing belt etc, about another 400 bucks in parts.
Hopefully I’m done with the head gasket job on my Prius tomorrow.
Then pull Her engine and and give it a tuneup.

Attaboy! I had an a-5 with a flatline barrel to induce backspin. It was a bit like shooting little mini frisbees and if you tilted that thing even a little bit they would slice or hook off to to the side.

I also had a Flatline barrel, along with a number of other types of barrels. (I suffered from marker accessory addiction disease.) In 2005, I commanded the Tippmann team in the Tippmann World Challenge, in Hell, Michigan.

It took quite a bit of searching for me to locate this image:
