Do I shred short filler?

Hi.
I have a bag of leftover scraps from the WLT cigar kit.
They are all different size pieces. Should I shred/cut them so that they are more uniform?

I'm going to be using a Lieberman style machine for these short filler cigars. But would they smoke better if cut to a more uniform size?
Thanks

I don’t worry about trying to get them uniform, but a lot of the pieces like you show in your second picture I would discard as being too small for rolling into a cigar. However, you could use them in a pipe blend.
Thanks.
What would a pipe blend entail?
Could I just gather together all the really small bits and smoke them in a pipe? Or they need processing in some way?
If so, could I just add those scraps into a tin of bought pipe tobacco?

I haven't looked into pipe tobacco at all. Is it much different from cigar tobacco?
I have just ordered a pipe kit though. The bowl and stem have been drilled, but the outer shape needs carving. I figured I could work out the tobacco side later on.

Yes, and with no further processing. See our Index of Key Forum Threads for two free, downloadable pipe blending books (as pdf). But a "pipe blend" is whatever you stuff into your pipe. Most commercial pipe blends are laced with humectants (forever moist) and food flavorings.

I keep a gallon bag and put all my scraps into it after each rolling session. When the bag is full, I chop the scraps into fairly uniform pieces. This makes it much easier to roll into a cigar. The technique is slightly different (check out the threads above posted by @Knucklehead but I think is actually easier than rolling with long filler. Being as we use good quality leaf, I find no difference in quality that in my regular cigars. Sometimes they are slightly better due to the higher proportion of wrapper / binder leaf in the blend. Have fun!
