I just hung ~46 hands (5 leaf per) of Black Mammoth, and I believe the other variety was Golden Burley, yesterday in my regular barn. I keep hearing to allow 4-6 weeks cure time so I’m going to settle on five, considering all variables. Afterwards am I good to start shredding and rolling into cigarettes?
Also, I wanted to experiment with infusing apples from my property somehow.
I appreciate any feedback, negative or positive. Thanks!

After 2 months in my homemade Kiln, 87 percent humidity, 127 degrees constant placed in Tupperware to lock moisture in, regular inspection of leaves, separating, laying them flat ontop of each other & misting with distilled water. This is what I’ve ended up with in Dominican Olor. A fresh batch is going in versus the test run prior as you can see.
I bought a pipe off Amazon to taste my tobacco vs purchased cigar leaf of the same, it’s s bit different but that’s variables in growing conditions & nutrients to the plant in the soil I’m guessing. It looks great, feels just like the real deal but still a little amônia is detected., I never thought I’d get this far before chucking everything, lol 9E5E489F-E883-4F52-8FC7-35CC7BF0E6D6.jpeg
Any suggestions are welcome.

I’ve just read a too high temp will make tobaco burn if it’s over 110-115 degrees. Does it smell burnt or turn very brown like these leaves? Do my leaves have high nicotine? Based on the colour.? They were first primings hmmmmm They don’t smell burnt. As I said earlier, I fermented at 127°.

Welcome here. The leaf looks great but I'm really digging that barn. How old is it and what does the outside look like? No big deal, I'm just into old stuff and history.
Thanks, Knucklehead. I too, enjoy my history. The barn was erected in 1940. The house ~1807, built and inhabited by U.S. Brigadier General Thomas Dole. The fresher, painted side had to be torn down and rebuilt due to its poor state. We kept as much of the old beams as possible. It will certainly be a life-long project! Colors are true to the era of federal-style houses. I’m always actively (re)searching and acquiring information on the property and surrounding area.
IMG_2714.jpegI’ll tell ya, doing things like hangin’ tobacca in the ol’ barn really takes me back in time. This has been a great experience so far, even if I don’t yield a single cig.
