First time growing tobacco: @Pierre

Hi, it is my first time growing tobacco ! Wish me luck !

I place it where the washing machine is and the clothes that dry so i guess i will some humidity.


I mix dirt from the garden, compost and this fertilizer (this is what I had on hand)

On the packaging it says : indoor plant potting soil

Ah yes, that's how it starts, if it grows well next year you'll have so many varieties that you won't know where to put them. Good luck.

It begin to pop a bit everywhere
I notice some have round leafs and other are more pointy.
I don't know what is the long one, tomato ?

I use compost from my garden bins to transplant my plants into and for the first few weeks I have to remove scores of baby tomato plants, they grow like wildfire.

It's been praticly a mounth and i did not have succes, only a few have started.

I think i do several errors :
- too much water
- i cover the seed with my mix (dirt/compost)
- i did not cover them with plastic to greate a greenhouse effect
- Not enought light ?

I order a new bag of seeds to try again. Any tips ?

You seem to have identified possible issues. In your current photo, I see that 3 of the seedlings have put out secondary leaves. That's success!

My second try being to have really tiny sprouts that begin to apear. I think i'm on the good way.
My first try have sprouts too but they keep dying.

The new soil should work out a lot better. You could probably save some sprouts from the first lot if carefully transplanted into the new soil mix before they die off.

Tomorrow will be the 3rd week of the second try.

4th week
One sprout got stuck to the plastic film.
So it gives me the opportunity to see if it can start again although it is so little developed.
I put it back in a pot with plastic film.

I let them grow twice that size before I transplant them, nothing bad will happen if you do it now but they're easier to handle if they're bigger.

Your seedlings don't look too crowded, so no rush. I often sow too densely, in which case it's better to transplant asap; else the roots get tangled up and they grow all lanky.
EDIT: maybe thin out those that are tightly clustered.
