My go to snus flavoring is meadowsweet extracted in spirit combined with Juniper berries. I usually fill up a yar when they flower and pour vodka over it. I would describe its taste like a flowery version of disaronno, but bitter instead of sweet.
Juniper really rounds up the tobacco flawours nicely i find. The junipers i just grind and add to the snus.

Anybody doing something similar?

The meadowsweet is blooming beautifully:

The smell they give of is fantastic. Filled another yar, i tried to get buds that are opening, and resently opened flowers, as opposed to yesterday night when i just grabbed the whole thing. Hopefully this will catch more of the aroma.

Late night flavoring the newest batch.
Aroud 3 parts European larch,
2 parts meadowsweet
And 1 part Rhododendron tomentosum.
All plants extracted in vodka. Eventually id like to get a distillation device built to be able to separate the aromas on their own.
What part of the larch are you using? It looks like the needles on the jar on the right?

I really like the meadowsweet, the taste is quite similar to dissarano, but really bitter, so keep that in mind if you end up flavoring your snus with it.

Yeah its the needles, havent tried it before, but the vodka had a really nice piney taste. I actually just ended up trying it because a branch fell down in the yard.

Got loads of Juniper. Used in discretion (not like Göteborgs rapé) i would say its one of the best snus spices, really complements the warm earthy tones of good tobacco. Also great with red meat..

Theres been alot more berries lately than what i remember from when i was a kid. I wonder if its related to climate changed, as juniper bushes get more common as you go south from here.
