ftt screen different on tablet....anyone know why

When my wife and I got our new phones we got a free LG tablet. Porch sitting with it and a fat muwat . figured id start trying it out. My first trial is of course ftt. The screen on the house chromebook gives more soft buttons .tablet looks a bit sparse. Why wouldn't the site appear the same on both units.

There is a "mobile version" of the sight. for full version, scroll to bottom of the page, there is a drop down menu at the lower left corner to select "mobile" or "full site".
