New to the forum and new to growing tobacco (or anything really).

Father-in-law smokes cigars, I like having interesting hobbies, so I've been wanting to grow my own tobacco and make cigars, sounded fun.

Anyway, been lurking around, got enough details and thought I'd give it a go!

Started it on Monday night, already have them sprouting white hairs and some green, so I'm hopeful. I've read so many threads of people (all over the internet) having trouble from the very start.

Welcome to the forum. You're off to a great start. Since your tobacco will require 6 to 8 weeks indoors, prior to transplanting, you are probably looking at early June for transplant. Most likely (depending on where in TN you live) that will allow plenty of time to produce a good crop. [In 2018, my transplanting was delayed to early June, yet even here in the Virginia Blue Ridge, I got a magnificent crop.]

Feel free to begin your own grow log in the Grow Blogs section. We love lots of photos.

Bob

EDIT: Do read the FAQ for beginning growers (link at the top), and check out the Index of Key Forum Threads (link up there also).
