Welcome to the forum! We have a lot of fun here.

Please feel free to introduce yourself, tell us a little about you, and your goals for the coming year.

Are you looking to make pipe or cig blends? What are your curing plans? Are you going to grow in ground, in pots, hydroponics etc? But above all else enjoy the journey and have fun! :)

I’m hoping to make some pipe tobacco! I plan on air curing both of the types I’m growing, but I’m going to form carrotes with the Virginia 116. And I’m going to grow in containers!

So my plants haven’t flowered yet, but the bottom leaves are starting to turn light green/yellow. Should I start harvesting the bottom leaves? The first two plants are Virginia 116 and the last three are Burley 21.

I would wait a few more days to begin to harvest the first few leaves of the Va (I prefer to harvest ripe rather than mature leaves) and more than a week for the burley. Keep in mind that 99% of my tobacco ends up shredded and rolled in cigarettes, if you intend to use your leaves for cigars you may prefer mature leaves instead of fully ripe ones.
