We air cure the whole plant on stalks under fans because it's so small, it NEVER yellows and usually drys green to brownish green with all sorts of funky spots and weird colors in it before it's done. Afterwards we pick the leaves and toss the stalks. Once it hits the fermenter, then it changes nicely.
what humidity are you having for the air curing part. in my limited experience under or above 80 makes a big difference

We're in central Florida so roll the dice...our average here at the moment is 78% but It may be 40% outside right now and +90% by noon. Or <40% for a week and %85+ the week after. Always fun times in these parts!

It works well for tobacco... A picture I had up the other day of our latest Virginia crop in fermentation was accused of being "flute cured"... No, that's just air cured in the 100+ degree hell I call a screened in back porch.

But yes, climate is everything to curing.

Nice, I’ll check those threads out.

Geez I hadn’t thought about the strength of it… is there something I can mix it with to dilute it? Like mint leaves?

Otherwise could I just use less of it when I put a dip in?

What do you think I should do?

Thanks

I can now say the nic hit will be too high. Even cutting it by 2/3 ( 1 lb rustica, 2lb mixed other) its still too strong even with taking smaller pinches. Im down to a pinch being less than a pinky nail ( maybe a half dime slightly less i think) and still getting nicotine overdose symptoms.

i feel like since i switched to making my own out of purchased dark air before any of my plants were ready it prepared me for high nic content. going from timberwolf snuff to dark air was a much bigger shock for me than going from dark air to pure rustica snus. albeit im only using my early season plants right now half of which were in a greenhouse so it may be 4%ish like the dark air is.
