I can't thank the kind folks here enough for the vast and exhaustive knowledge, wisdom and varied experience shared for over a decade. I have spent the last two months intensively becoming acquainted with the wonderful world of fine tobacco and much of that time was spent reading this invaluable forum.
Ive been smoking clove for the past 30 years (kreteks till 2009), Djarum Black, and never really enjoyed "American" tobacco. But, with the recent surge in price, sudden drop in quality (flavor) and 3/4 full tubes I had a sudden epiphany; I really enjoy smoking and that I deserve a better tobacco for my money. Also, Ive become more interested in my heritage and and pipe smoking was a significant part of that history. So the way forward was plainly obvious, just switch to smoking a pipe.
Though Ive ruined or trashed more tobacco than Ive actually smoked, Im enjoying this new adventure very much.
