You could start off with some of the cigarette blend whole leaf tobacco from
www.wholeleaftobacco.com to get a feel for working with whole leaf and to start saving some money now. Flue cured varieties, Burley and Izmir make a good cigarette. I use five classes of leaf in my cigarettes, Flue cure, burley, maryland, dark air, and Oriental. I'm still smoking Don's cigarette leaf while mine naturally ages. I just starting kilning my cigar leaf. What kind of cigarettes does your wife smoke, light, full flavor?

You also need to start looking into a way to shred your tobacco for cigarettes. Whether you buy your leaf or grow it you still have to shred it. The Powermatic is at the top, or you can use things like an angel hair attachment on a pasta maker, or roll your leaf up and slice it with a knife. The Powermatic rules though:
