Hi I would like to sow some tobacco this summer but not sure if it's hot enough yet. If anyone could find out what time I can start sowing that would be great! I'm living down in holmfirth, Yorkshire. Sowing on sunny windowsill. I have a feeling it's 10 - 30th june but no sure on exact frost date.

I will be using a sunny windowsill, Propogator, Feed. I have tried sowing some for a while now in spring but nothing seems to come up and whatever did come up didn't grow or root like they where to cold or something

Thanks for any information!

Will you be growing strictly inside or eventually moving the plants outside? I see in another thread you live in the top flat with no outdoor space and want to grow in a windowsill. Is that still the situation? That will affect the advice you receive.

I will be growing strictly indoors :) I had some amber leaf that I sowed last summer indoors "strictly" that came up but have been sowing a while in Spring & Winter but nothing's come up :/ I have a feeling sowing in summer will work.

Here are a couple of threads by members that have grown indoors. They used grow tents and lights but you may glean more useful info from those than an outdoor grow. I have a different mindset knowing I only have to keep the seedlings alive for eight weeks before turning over their care to Mother Nature.
