Hello guys.

So as you can see, last time I was here it was about sprouting and now I have some 5 feet plants.

Last evening I did a foolish thing and put our organic-garbage into one of the barrel that growing 3 plants inside.
In the morning I saw that (our?) dogs get into this barrel for the garbage and made a big destruction to the plants.

So results of it, I have in my hand now more then 10 green leaves - 20 inch long - that are Immaturity, still green.
Can i smoke it latter after curing? what will be the results of this early harveting?

Thank you!

Moshe,

It's my first year growing. So, I'm not sure. I would either read the processing/curing section of this forum, or ask one of the guys like DeluxeStogie, Knucklehead, or one that is also growing a lot, someone with experience growing.

Re: Immaturity

You can cure an immature leaf in the standard ways even though it's green. However the resulting leaf will probably be mild and lacking the flavour of a nice ripe leaf.

I understand your desire to keep them all ... when you grow your own every leaf means a lot to you ... and it won't do any harm to try and cure them.

Re: Immaturity

Go ahead and cure them. Keep notes and compare them to the leaves that (later in the season) you were able to grow to maturity. Have any of these plants bloomed yet?

Re: Immaturity

They will cure and smoke just fine. The "yellowing" part of curing will take longer. Don't throw them away.

Re: Immaturity

I have nothing to add to the above. I'd just like to say your plants are looking great and I hope the rest of your season goes well. Don't be a stranger, drop in more often for a chat and definitely post more pictures. We love pictures. It's good to hear from you again. You seem to be doing a fine job with your plants.

Re: Immaturity

They will maybe cure ok as long as they don't dry out too fast and set green. If U can make them go through the yellow-brown progression it'll be fine--maybe not the best leaves, but good enuff to use as filler or stretcher, whatever you are going to use them for. It's worth a try--check out that photo, they look fine.

Re: Immaturity

Thank you Guys!
Its great to be here again.

I got more then 15 plants. some grow faster and higher then the other, I belive its matter of soil and Irrigation.
the big plants - those you can see in the photo - are bloomed already but i cut it down.

Most of my plants are cover with Aphis. I didnt do anything about it.
When the leaves will be cured and dry, i'll take the Aphis out with soft brush.

and I start cure some leaves already (volado - yellowish) its proccesing good i believe.

I'll update more soon...
Thank you!

Re: Immaturity

If you aren't going to get cold anytime soon let one of the ground level suckers grow, it will make a plant about 1/2-2/3 the size of the first one. Another crop without having to do everything up to and including transplant.

Re: Immaturity

Thank you SmokesAhoy.

Why should I leave just one leaf from the sucker, in case that all the leaves come from the same sucker branch?

Leave the single entire sucker branch. After you harvest all your leaf from the main stalk, cut the main stalk above that sucker. It will form a new plant using the existing root ball.

Re: Immaturity

Go it, Thank you!
its a nice surprise to have a new plant.

Moshe, here is a picture of a plant after I finished priming all the leaf. I cut the stalk and allowed three suckers to grow from the stub. In a couple of days, I will see which sucker looks the most healthy, then pick the other two, leaving only the one best looking one. That one sucker will grow into a new plant.
