Some of the leaves when I pull them apart have at the ends some dark black tips that are really dry what is that?

I've seen stems that were "" black"" from top to bottom..a sign of a thorough flue cure....the high temp hits 165 degrees...

What is the source of your leaf? If it is WLT leaf, then some of the tips may have been sun-scalded before harvest, or otherwise damaged prior to flue-curing. It's a natural product.

Thanks Bob Chicken there are some brown to black its from Don whole leaf tobacco. I have tried it when shredded it tastes kind of sweet or kind of like a burley. It was on the American flue cured its not mold I don't think but it tends to be on the leafs that are in the middle. Just doing some lemon now and its been on the lemon as well but the lemon it seemed to taste really sweet but bitter on the American Flue cured. its also been super hot here some days and thought it may have been heat related. We have low humidity here so keeping the baccy in Dons sealed bags. Humidity here is low. For your information I am new to whole leaf tobacco gone through 6lbs and shredded 2lbs of my new order still on that 6lb and I have to say this is real whole leaf tobacco. Don gives you full leaves There is usually one in each pound or 2 that are all shredded and raggady on the stem. if you get one this stuff is super tasty. 6 leaves are half to 3/4 full in a 100gram 100% more can of tobacco here in Canada I am not complaining I am curious as to what this black is
