The tale of the dill that wasn’t:
The wife and I were quite pleased with the lush growth of our dill plant this year. In the past as soon as it gets big enough to start harvesting, the caterpillars munch it down, then the summer heat kills what’s left. So we were very excited to see how well it was doing this year. So our first batch of cucumbers were ready last week so the wife made a batch of pickles using some of the fresh dill.
SPOILER ALERT - it’s not dill. It’s fennel. Must have been mislabeled at the nursery. The pickles still taste good.
