Theres gona be 2 schools of thought on this.

If surface white mold..wipe it off with a very lightly damp napkin and then leave the leaf dry without being in any sort of container or bag until close to dry...then rebag and store in your house...not garage or unconditioned space...

If the mold is green or black ..throw it away..its rotting.

The 2nd school of thought will say to throw it away with any mold.

One thing...if the leaf has spots of green...blotches of green...make sure it is mold...it could just be that some of the leaf was not fully color cured and retained its green leaf color...that leaf would be fine to use.

Suggestion...if storing in the right case state and conditioned aoace/ indoors...younshouldnt get mold.

Good benchmark is the feel the condition of the lead that don ships leaf...that state of case is fit for storage.

If you want to test your judging abilities...periodically check it weekly

Closets work well.

If its green and unsure of mold or simply not fully color cured...post a good clear closeupnpic and most members here can help judge it.

Simple test...as well...rub a napkin against the green sections..if you dont get green slimy mold coming off onto napkin...its probably not fully color cured leaf.

If its black...not question its mold and i would toss it

If it is light, a dilute solution of white vinegar can be sprayed on the leaf to kill/remove it. The vinegar smell will go away. Then bring leaf back to low case for storage. Post a pic, it may not be trash yet.

Yep, there will be more than a few opinions on mold.
We all end up suffering from it to some extent.

Bottom line is you should be using the best you can grow... It's our advantage over commercial.

That being said, I've tried citric acid in water, and hydrogen peroxide, both sprayed at the leaf, at one time or other.
They were both effective.

Immediately after the application I used fans, and electric light bulbs for heat. Make sure they get absolutely dry dry before packing it away for storage.

Other times I've torn off perfectly color cured portions, separating it from parts that were damaged by nasty black mold.

A controlled environment is critical to better quality color-curing.
Take it to a very dry, low case and hold it there for a period of time before storing it, compressed or in hands.
Stable temp/humidity is best for storage.
...That usually means in the house...
Good luck

...and my biology ain't so good... I'm just not real sure what the mold actually does to the cell structure of the leaf.
Can't be good, though.
It's all gotta be a degeneration of the leaf, and lesser quality.
Harmful to health? Sorry, I don't know that either. I'd guess probably.
Get a 2nd opinion on anything I might say!
