What size will be their final containers?
10 liters.
Filled with a semi-soilless mix:
10 parts coconut coir (hydrated with full strength triple-20 fertilizer, with Epsom salts)
5 parts perlite
5 parts vermiculite
5 parts potting soil
Every other watering is with a full strength fertilizer, and a dash of Epsom salts.

The Drosgi Black-Blue is yellowing, but I’m worried I might have given them too much nitrogen, too close to the harvest. I was hoping for 45 days, but had to settle for 37, due to crowding. Apparently, laundry needed to be done…IMG_0373.jpeg

That is what happens when windowsill plants are in a kitchen window, and a wife is a little careless with the stainless steel water boiler, when making her tea one morning, and cooks one of the leaves by setting hot metal against it.
Well that’s probably one of the more unique ways tobacco has been damaged lol.

I have had similar damage to plants with wet leaves in full sun. I got sloppy with the watering can (in a hurry), and a burn mark like that appeared on the leaf, matching where the water was pooled.
I learned the hard way this year that rainy season + Florida summer does not mix with fresh transplants that have never seen full sun in their short existence lol. My yellow twist bud was furthest from any trees and I lost about half of the row in the span of a day or two they were cooked alive. Anyways I’m thinking as it’s my first year growing and I’m still learning and experimenting I could probably get away with starting some new seeds now and adding a second grow to the table to make up for the loss I’ve accumulated so far.

Always. Plant. Backups.
I now have 8 Vallejano, 10 One Sucker, and 10 Trabzon-2 plants with no real space or plan, other than to repot them when an empty pot is available. All back ups in case my first (Kentucky) crop, and second (Small Stalk Black Mammoth) crop, failed

From what I’ve seen so far you are the king of backups I will take your advice tho and start some backups soon. I thought I was going to over-plant this year but after I got everything outside I quickly realized I under planted. I will be growing a lot more extras from here on out. I guess it’s far better to grow too much than too little.

Are one sucker leaves normally that long at that height? I feel like all my plants leaves were like half that size and more rounded at that height. Those look like some long bois.

I have no idea- this is the first time I’ve ever grown the strain. Wruk53 might know- it’s a favorite strain of his.
The leaves are as thick as Napa cabbage, too.

They are long and narrow with a pointed tip. The lamina gets very thick and stiff when mature or ripe. The nicotine content is the highest of any dark variety I have grown. The aroma of the aged leaf is a rich tobacco and smells sort of like raisons. A puro snus made with OS is too high in nicotine for me, I always blend it with a milder variety.

And I sign for my new garden plot on Sunday….next year is going to be an event.

How many weeks do you give it after topping?

5 to 7 weeks. Some of the lower leaf will be ready to prime before that. I normally will prime twice, and stalk harvest the rest when it gets ripe. I know this sounds like a long time, but OS flowered at about 47 to 50 days for me. It just depends on when it turns mostly yellow or at least with significant mottling. If conditions are right, you could probably get away with harvesting earlier, but I don't like to struggle with color curing. Once you top the plants the leaves will continue to grow and gain weight for quite some time.
