The perils of small containers:
The plants require watering almost daily. When dry, the lightweight containers tip over easily in the wind.
This plant was on its side for 4 hours a few weeks ago: I set it straight as soon as I found it, but it already grew sideways, and corrected itself once upright

The hydroponic Kentucky was topped, and the 3 week date for harvest was August 17.
At the time of topping, I replaced the nutrient solution with brand new, full strength nutrients. This may have been a mistake- as the plant instantly greened up, and since I’m suckering it (surprisingly very little on this one), the leaves seem to have started to grow much larger…

3 more MD609 have fallen, to be raised in smoky Valhalla, again!
These are the last of this variety I have planted, and wow are they good producers, even in 10 liter containers, but you REALLY have to watch out for the winds tipping them, and priming some of your leaves…IMG_0853.jpegIMG_0854.jpeg

Priming continues on the Small Stalk Black Mammoth. Plus one gorgeous smelling mud lug I found yesterday.
The one sucker in the front row of the Small Stalk Black Mammoth looks like it’s starting to flower, as well, but can’t see into the growing tip, yet.IMG_0873.jpeg

With a bit of photo cropping, the tobacco against dappled sunlight would make your IMG_0872.jpeg into a magnificent mural photo.

I just signed for a garden house. It’s about 600 square meters- a certain percentage of it needs to be set aside for “attractive flowers”- so that’s gonna be the Oriental patch. One section for veggies, and another section that’s going to be for me- about 75 square meters……I’m hoping for a more impressive picture next year!

Since my Drosgi Black-Blue failed, I decided to do some late (I’ll bring them inside, later) Aztec, and a Virginia Gold that I hope to over ripen and harvest completely yellowed, to make what a few companies call “flavor Virginia “….IMG_0924.jpegIMG_0923.jpeg

I’m sure the wife is thrilled lol. Can’t wait to see the patch next year.
