Hi I was curious if you can get a paper mold to work as good as a plastic or wood mold? Is there a certain type of paper that works better than others? Any tips on using a paper mold you could give? Thank you

Paper / rolled molds are just different than rigid molds. This was especially noticeable for me at the head of the cigar.

I used newspaper and computer paper. The paper is rolled up to compress the tobacco while its shape sets.

I used plastic thin folder material. Same thing as paper, but I could apply more pressure. It took longer for the shape of the compressed tobacco to set.

I use 3D printed molds... I load them up and rotate a couple times and then wrap them the following day.

Only general advice I would give is to be patient with length of time molded before you wrap.

Paper will never be able to be placed under pressure like a solid mold without squishing the tobacco, so yes they always will be different, but paper works just fine. May not be as aesthetically pleasing to look at, but will still taste great nevertheless. Truthfully, paper rolled will likely teach you more about proper construction technique and in the long run make you better at rolling.
