Alrighty, so, rolled some more last couple days. Cigars #4-17 plus a couple scrap small guys. Had three other small guys I’ve smoked that didn’t burn the greatest ( too moist I think ) but the flavour wasn’t overly bitter. Realized I didn’t include my blends on last pics so ill include my terribly messy blend notes … Anyways …IMG_0062.jpeg

Looks incredible! I'm a year or two away from the possibility of having half a dozen of my own grown and rolled away.

Can't wait to get there!

I rolled this just before going to bed last night. It looks nicer this morning. The wrapper is WLT CT Shade, with a binder and filler of 50:50 WLT Peru viso and WLT Criollo 98 viso. As usual, I used no glue, since I have no intention of selling the cigar or giving it away, or even storing it. Because it rested overnight with the clothespin clipped on the head, it will not unwrap if I remove the clothespin—until I clip the head to smoke it. So I clip it while controlling the wrapper at the head with a fingertip, then stick the cigar in my mouth, to keep it wrapped. Once the clipped head has been moistened, it stays wrapped all by itself.

The true science of all this is that I am too lazy to make a triple cap that I will discard, and too lazy to prep cigar glue that I do not need. Though I admire the artistry of the gorgeous cigars made by other forum members, I'm more pragmatic with my own effort.

It’s been ages since I rolled a cigar with a press mold. However I picked up a beautiful used perfecto mold on eBay. One of the things I like about the vintage molds is they tend to be smaller ring gauges, which I am a fan of.

To christen the mold, I made a corojo pure with my indoor grown Corojo. My leaves aren’t nearly as pretty as WLT, but they smell and burn well.

I had to cut the perfecto into more of a torpedo because my wrapper was too short. It’s a bit damp, and I will let it dry out for a day or two.
