Nice perfecto. It is usually easier to unwrap and rewrap the binder, compared to trying to fix the draw after it has all dried. I usually vote for functionality (a nice draw) over beauty. You can even cut the head of the bound cigar, to test the draw, before applying the wrapper. That beautiful, pointy head is going to be cut off regardless.

With the filler possibly being too compressed, the most likely area that may be too tight is that pointed head. When you cut the head prior to lighting, start by cutting off a small bit of the head. If it is too tight a draw, cut off a little more.

So here's a funny one.. The second perfecto bunch i made came out a little thinner than what i needed for the mold. so i changed the shape of the mold from round to oval and ended up with an oval perfecto doll.. Will wrap it next.. No idea how it will come out, but the doll looks nice.

First stick out from the new DIY torpedo mold. Used a drop of blackstrap molasses in the water used for wrapper wetting to get the oily look on the cigar...

Just starting rolling, 20 y/o (from Canada). I randomly saw a tutorial on YouTube and was fascinated, looked up WLT and ordered a kit. Even though the shipping is expensive, good cigars up here cost $35+, so a homerolled cigar for less than $5 a piece sounded good.

First two I rolled (4 days ago) turned out alright, although the tutorial i followed didn't do leaf prep, so it was sprits water till workable. They also completely soaked the wrapper, which made it impossible to glue the flag and cap. Got it eventually.
The next two (2 days ago) i made turned out a lot better, I used the mist and plastic bag method over a few hours and had fantastic results.

How did it taste?
I smoked it, the first thing I noticed was that it was a little sharper than store-bought cigars. I assume that comes from the youthful tobacco. I would classify it as medium bodied. Aromatically, it reminds me of the aromatic - sour smell I noticed during fermentation. In places the ash is white. I once read that this comes from a high potassium content of the leaves. I am really surprised, not bad at all! What I still noticed is that the smoke was relatively blue! Now I let the tobacco times rest.

Been a minute since I’ve been able to post some sticks here! Work has been keeping me pretty busy!

5 down. 35+ to go on this blend! I call it “The Wannabe” lol. Bound up 2 filler variations (all Nicaraguan filler). Binder is Nicaraguan. Started with CTBL to wrap with the first batch. Then onto some PA.
