Wow, where to start, The first thing I can relate to is to teach your young ones what you know. If you want a thrill than be there with them.
Always be in charge on how to process a fish or game animal and let them know that is how it is done. Let THEM do it (friendly supervision)
Always obey local laws and regulations.
Always take your kids hunting and fishing with you when possible, you won't regret.

Buy pork bellys and mae your own bacon if you don't raise hogs . heh heh.

I cleared and dug a pond last year, I put 20 1/2 lb bass,40 6" channel catfish 400 blue gill and 3 lb fathead minnows. That was September 2018. in march 2019 I put 40 more 6" channel cats and 3 more lbs of fathead minnows and 200 more blue gill.
Last years cats are14' already. I will be harvesting next year when my kids can keep what they catch. I feed them ad the water boils.
I aereate with a pump several hours a week and it really helps the water quality, and it has never been more than 3" below spillway.

This year is looking up as far as providing for the table. TheWuhan China crap hasn't affected my area much. I must've seen it coming considering my hunting season, veggie garden which is great this year.( 9 yds of mushroom mulch applied last year) and my home grown hogs and chickens for my eggs. I am happy as a , all get out, I haven't had homegrown in 20 years. I been killing them wild ones like crazy. Still do., Heh heh heh.
