Beautiful leaf. It's an amazing plant. My experience has been that leaf from a more timid year (reached only ~6 feet) came out nicer than leaf from the gargantuan plants.

I colect them 5 minutes before the storm.
Last year my Corojo was at least 1 feet taller rather 1 and half. Also topped them higher and priming was cuban way...two or three leaves every week.
This year I make one priming to colect mud lugs and volado little bit earlier, than second volado/seco, third priming was seco and I will try to colect all viso/lighero with next forth primming in about two weeks. I believe that leaf will be ready.

Because of too high temperatures, strong wind and low humidity during the day I cower leaves with pvc.

It was drying to fast...I helped a bit hopefuly.

In few days temperature will fall down and we will have another problem with too slow drying.
It is newer right until you make controled drying chamber.

Lucky Cubans; they just hang tobacco and mother nature do the rest...I know it is not entirely like that but close...

Larning hard way...

Lucky Cubans; they just hang tobacco and mother nature do the rest...

It is not that simple. I learned it hard way. Again beginners mistakes.

Yesterday afternoon I collect all viso and ligero leaves at a time. I wanted to speed the process this year.
After I had a visit from my friend who work very close to my tobacco patch. He told me that it was hail at that area after and destroyed a lot. I said to myself: " After all I'm lucky".
Unfortunately I was very tired late at night and decide to hang tobacco early in the morning
but like you see it was few hours to late. I destroy complete ligero 2016 !!!. I'm angry, sad,... Few days ago I also read what Bigbonner suggest. How to prepare tobacco for market... and I saw that four hours after harvesting dark tobacco should hang in the barn. I don't know. Learning hard way...

So, what can I do now? Relax. Teachers...WLT cigar...

Your Prilep is beautiful. Just two days ago, I was thinking of my 2017 grow. I knew it was time to do a serious production grow of an Oriental, rather than experiments, tests and comparisons of oddball varieties. For me, it came down to Xanthi-Yaka#18A or Prilep 66-9/7. I decided on the Prilep.

Since I'll be adding flue-curing capability to my endoskeletal kiln before next season, I'll grow Virginia Bright Leaf as well, and flue-cure some of the Prilep.

Prilep 2016

This picture was taken about month ago.
I grow them 15 cm(about 6 inches) appart. They always grow higher than suposed and they bend down. I have lots of work with support them with sticks and so on.
Also leaves are bigger then they should be. About 25 cm(10-12 inches) aprox.
It was about 160 seedlings from the beggining and I will get about 4-5 pounds of dry leaf in the end.

It is beautiful plant and tasty. Sun cured and flue cured...
