So, I found an 0.7mm RS100 from a different vendor in Poland (cutandroll.com), a few quid cheaper overall (£96 incl delivery via PayPal) than the bigger tobaccoandmachines.com (but seem to be an affiliate)

First 'play' after cleaning & light lubrication was 400g of mixed leaf and, by golly, does it need bolting down! Being left-handed didn't help either.

But, after much jiggling, cursing & a few blisters I got a much more uniform shred than from the 'starter shredder' I'd purchased from Amazon.

As it's stainless steel, I strip then clean with boiling water then spray it with 99% isopropanol to collect & remove remaining water, then re-lube. Can't really do that when it's bolted to a table, so I was looking around for quick-release fittings.

I'm going to try these 'GH-201B toggle clamps' (£10 for 4 at Amazon) bolted to a decent slab of pine, one locking into each bolt-hole on the shredder - hopefully, I can position them to avoid interfering with the handle & they have a claimed 198lb holding capacity each, so should be rock-solid (pic is of a cheaper & weaker clamp but better illustrated)

I'll update once I've got it locked down satisfactorily and then see if I can move onto to automating it, as the handle fits to a welded standard 8mm socket and claims safety up to 200RPM.

Well, with a bit more adjustment (and a proper coffee & cigarette break), I realised it would fit cross-ways, giving me clamping room and leftover space to bolt some kind of automation in.

It's rock-solid in those clamps!

If I ever get around to motorizing it, I'll post the result

Have you tried the drill motor to drive it at slow speed? Socket and extension...

Dear god, I wish I'd set this up sooner - put my back out hand-cranking for 2 hours last night. Today, the same amount with the electric screwdriver took 20 minutes.

The shredder is as clean as a whistle afterwards too. Didn't need clamping to the table either.

Had a 500g baggy of mixed leaf to get through today, and the dear old 4v Ryobi screwdriver went flat after ten minutes.

Hooked up the Makita drill (18v cordless, variable speed - earlier pic) on low/screwdriver with high torque - total blast, like switching from a 50cc moped to a 1200cc Kawasaki!

500g done in around 45 minutes. I'm totally stoked :)

The shred came through slightly warm, but the shredder took it all in it's stride. Next will be a fixture of some kind to give me hands-free (I can see myself accidentally feeding a finger in - the joy of being cack-handed)

Just got one from ebay, a 1.2mm version. 9 days from Poland to my door. The starter shredder that clamps to a table is easy enough, this thing was almost effortless to use and I cut up 5 or 6 leaves of fire cured in far less time than the starter shredder would have taken. And that was with it resting in the pan in the picture, not secured to anything.

Strangely enough, the 0.8mm starter shredder cuts at the same width as this one which leads me to believe the tolerances on this one are much tighter

fyi - cutandroll.com and tobaccoandmachines.com are one and the same - not sure i understand what pawel is attempting or why he chose to operate as two companies. He doesn't try to hide it as he's contacted me from emails from both websites, and lot of the videos of machines operating are shared across both web sites
