Okay - I get why this thread was branched off to start a new one. And I now have a better understanding of the rules - no problem. But, I didn't start this thread or conversation. I commented in response to another member's post about the UN taking American tax dollars and funneling them to folks who don't have America's best interests at heart.. The post I was responding to has been removed, along with the first paragraph of my longer reply. It now appears that I started my remarks with , "That is why", which will lead folks to wonder what I'm talking about and probably just cause more trouble. I would request that this entire thread be deleted, so that my words are not taken out of the context intended.
I always figure that if Congress is out of session, we can at least breathe easier. I worked a bit with Sen. Jesse Helm (a great man) and agreed with his sentiment about the UN, which was essentially, Y'all just go on home and quit spending other people's money! Age and bad influences caused him to moderate toward the UN (and I admit that they do some good on International health issues) toward the end. But, those boys just need to go on home and take care of their own! Sen Helms was a gentleman and a true southerner - we'll not see another like him in this generation!
