When you put your leaves in the kiln with too much humidity, it let yeasts and mold develop.
I had some batches with clearly too much water and the leaves ended covered with some sort of dust, smelling very nice, like some baker's yeast.
And of course, some ended with mold... which is less good :(

sorry for resurrecting an old post but I actually have this on my leafs curing in the shed still, didn't use manure but did use gypsum and old coffee grinds.
