It is my sincere desire that this thread will complement the works and efforts of those who helped cultivate my love and interest in tobacco, those long-standing founding members and the creators of FTT, without whom my love affair with Ladies N. & R. would have been brief. I hope this serves and continues grow the forums already vast number of informational resources.

Tobacco. Its history, varieties, culture, manufacture and commerce, with an account of its various modes of use, from its first discovery until now.

by Billings, E. R
Available here: https://archive.org/details/tobacco...+Varieties,+Culture,+Manufacture+and+Commerce
Though I downloaded at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0082RB1WE/ref=kinw_myk_ro_title
and they have a paperback version.
The now referred to in the title is 1875. Gives a history of tobacco from it's discovery by Europeans up to that time. Talks about cultivation and curing methods around the world. Some of it seems a bit fanciful. Includes some song and poetry in homage to the plant.
