Funny story:
I was terrified of bees and I had just quit smoking. So it only seems logical that I married a beekeeper, who loves his smokes. :D

I joined this site (at his request) after seeing my husband (chillardbee) spend countless hours on here. He also has spoken many times about how much he has come to appreciate the community he has found. Not sure what I can glean from or give to the community other than support. Which is what I give to Will (I hope he would agree). :)

This is the second year of growing our own tobacco. (Yes, I say ours even though I don't smoke it.) I do try to help where I can. If my Mr isn't going to quit, I'm much happier with him growing it, and curing it at home.

I probably won't post much, if anything. Just comment on Mr's posts, and any that I find interesting.

See you around the forum!

Welcome to the forum. Those were nice bags you were sewing. My wife has helped me pull grass once. She doesn't smoke either.

I should say, while I'm not a smoker, I am a homesteader at heart. Right now, life dictates that I work full time outside the home. (We don't have wee ones yet.) But I spin wool, knit & crochet, weave and sew. I cook, bake, clean and craft. I dehydrate, freeze and can foods. Will and I have a good system. He does most of the heavy work, and I do all the finishing touches. He's a hard worker that man o' mine!

You might check "providing for the table" Some good (and some funny) stuff over there. I personally enjoy trying a new recipe.

GREAT. About a year ago the local market changed brands of tortillas. The new ones were awful so I made a tortilla press and started making my own. I'll never buy one again. Make my own Fritos too.

I asked *someone* to make me a tortilla press. I have made tortillas with my rolling pin, and they were certainly delicious, but lots of effort. I'd like a press. *cough, Chillardbee, cough*
