Travel humidor smells and tastes like plastic two years later.

Hey y'all! The subject of this post was just stolen out of my motorcycle saddle bags however, I intend to replace it so this is still applicable. As the title is implying I had a cigar caddy travel humidor which I liked very much except for one major issue. Even after having it for 2 years it still smells strongly of off gasing plastic. To the point that it will actually make my cigars smell and even taste like that. Can one of y'all recommended a travel humidor that either doesn't have this issue or, failing that, how to get rid of it? Thanks!

Airing can help. You can also purchase some activated charcoal powder, and replace the tea from a teabag, to leave in the box.
