Want to try home blends

Hey everyone.

I’ve been lurking here and there in this forum for a little while now. Reading and dreaming of trying to blend/grow my own for a little while.

I currently live with my in-laws and will be until my family and I buy a house. My in-laws are pretty anti tobacco, so buying whole leave and blending in the kitchen is out of the question.

I would love to try some home blends and would be willing to trade some commercial pipe tobacco. I have mostly Virginias; Reiner 71 long flake, some escudo, some Ascanian castle from HU and some other Virginia blends to trade.

Would anyone be willing to send some samples and I can trade some samples of some nice commercial stuff? I am looking to try any thing Virginia/burly base but really don’t like Latakia.

Just a suggestion but you could store, work, and blend out of the trunk of your car. A couple of lbs. won't take up much space. www.wholeleaftobacco.com ships it's tobacco in poly nylon bags. You can't really smell the tobacco unless the bag is open. You don't need large, fancy, expensive appliances. You can roll the leaf into a cigar shape and slice coins off it with a sharp knife then roll it out between your hands. When sampling and testing my home grown leaf I can just tear off a chunk and stuff it in the pipe, no shredding needed.
