What’s wrong with these leaves and should I trim them back?

Leaves for my Semois tobacco are mottled brown and look dead in spots. Two large leaves seem to be affected. The rest of the leaf seems healthy but the browning on the left side of the vein seems to be growing. Should I cull the effected leaves to allow healthy new growth?

Definitely wait for more experienced advice, but…

I’d say that whatever it is, it’s likely in the soil and has spread to everything else in the tray. Cutting it back will likely only be a temporary measure.

I’d get it in the black bin quick and start over. Possibly with some better draining soil (more perlite and vermiculite).

Leaves for my Semois
Are you growing other varieties in the same conditions?

@ChinaVoodoo jumped in while I was typing. I can't really tell if I'm seeing traumatic or environmental damage, vs damage from a pathogen. Were they watered only from the bottom, or sprayed? Has standing water pooled on the leaves?

Was that leaf touching the light bulb at some point, or get bruised in some way?
Nope, not touching. I was wondering if I left water on the leaves a little too long and the light burnt the leaf and the death sort of spread.

I am, and only one or two other have the same issue, most are quite healthy besides natural yellow bottom leaves

What is your setup for lighting? What type of lights and distance from your plants?

Looking at your other thread where they were possibly over watered… it might not hurt to start germinating some back ups.

So for the first 1inch of their life they had a 2000 lumen light about 8 inches above them then about a week ago, I moved them to the floor to start a new seedling bactch and have an LED light about 3 feet above them. I will start acclimating them. I think it may have been a disease since none of the other plants are affected.
