Hi everyone,

If you could choose one tobacco variety for someone who’s new to growing/fermenting tobacco, which one would you advice? I read that some cigars in Italy are made solely from Nostrano del Brenta. But i’ve read here that varieties like corojo 99/ cubano/ criollo 98 do fine by themselves as well. My plan is to make it as easy as possible, since it’s my first try. Climate here is mild, summers don’t get too warm and can be rainy. Luckily i have a small greenhouse so I hope it will help against mold. I hope eventually to be able to make a corona sized mild flavored cigar.

Cheers,
Ben

Do you think Habano 2000 is a good alternative
No.

Corojo 99 appears to be available from @polygon55's website. Have your browser translate the page.

Well, if you import from outside the EU it can be a bit sketchy. Formally I should report my order to the authorities and might have to pay some tax. I will ask polygon if clients from the EU had some problems.
