I've been asked to post photos of my kilns. Déjà vu.

Cozy Can. This serves as either a flue-curing chamber or a kiln.

The full Cozy Can thread: http://fairtradetobacco.com/showthread.php?1094-deluxestogie-s-Trash-Can-Cozy-Flue-cure-Chamber

My first kiln, built several years ago, is the Baby Crock Pot Kiln, made from an old wooden toolbox. The details were posted on HTGT, and I won't re-post them here.

Like the Cozy Can, this also uses a 2 quart Crock Pot. The water heater thermostat is mounted in a square hole cut through the side of the toolbox, and covered with the small brown cigar box.

If others who have rigged up a kiln will post a single photo of it here, together with a link to their discussion of it (hopefully in a separate thread), then this thread can serve as a catalog of kiln possibilities.

Can do. Here's mine. An old freezer, gutted, with a 150 watt crock pot and Ranco temp controller (mounted in side the garage).

good thread i dea,

'' one'' can look at a lot of home-made kilns in one thread,

my kiln is built by, boarding up / framing the back side of a camper,

>it's 6 foot tall x 5 ft. wide x 6 ft long,

.

//it looked like this when it was smaller, [ my first year using a kiln ]

.
sam0120w.jpg

...i framed it all in, and used '' street sign's '' to hold in the heat and moisture, and used silicone to seal it all up.

Here's my little experimental kiln. The tobacco goes into glass jars so there's no need for a crock pot or other water supply. This will hold 3-1/2 gallon and 3-quart jars. I plan to use it to sample new varieties. My big kiln might get mothballed as I have enough tobacco to last several years allowing me to sweat the new stuff. By the way, you can stuff at least 12 leaves into a quart jar.
