I just ended up with several bags of calcium nitrate (free for the loading). Any recommendations on when to apply as a side dressing?

Different tobacco will require different nitrate rates . for burley I use around 600 to 900 pounds per acre .With 7200 to 8000 plants per acre
Broad leaf takes alot more .
If im not mistaken bright leaf takes way less .
Others will know the rates better than me . It might be helpful if you posted what tobacco plant you have .

On burley we side dress the tobacco in a bout 1 to 2 weeks after transplanting .

Bigbonner,
I've got havana, 14L8, several other types of burleys and silver river. I thought around 500/ac but will increase it up a little. The calcium nitrate is only for the side dressing, after 4-8-12 applied at planting. Thanks.....
