A 4 3/4" x 50 that I rolled with: wrapper Nostrano del Brenta volado, binder Nostrano del Brenta seco, filler Nostrano del Brenta volado+ seco and Aztec. All 2018 homegrow and kilned.
A good and mild smoke with a general creaminess but with a good kick due the Aztec tobacco. A blend that I write down on my pocketbook as "GOOD BLEND".
The sunny day, the cozy warm and a double malt beer did the rest
The LAST pile curing of the year!!!
Today I picked the last ligero of my Bahia and my Piloto Cubano PR and put it in my curing cardboard box. The leaves aren't big but very thick and stiky. If they cure right they will come flavorful ligero leaves.
Yesterday morning outsise are only 5 C and at 1800 m falled the first snow.
My 2019 grow is ended except two Little Dutch plants that I leave with a basal sucker just to see if would be possible to have a second grow.
Congratulations. Those top leaves will offer a world of flavor (and nicotine).
There's always an ineffable relief at the end of the growing season. (In a coincidence, I have two Little Yellow plants still in the garden. They never grew well, and are both still under 12 inches tall. I may or may not harvest them.)
This year I like to begin the kiln period the same day I ended the grow period.
Why?
I don't know but it liked me
So I take the leaves of Piloto Cubano PR and Little Dutch that have completed they curing transformation, misted with water, closed in two plastic bug and waited to come in high case. Then I will destem it and run the first kiln batch for one moth at 48-50 C.
The Piloto Cubano misted in the plastic bag:
Yes, it was a good year grow also as my field grow, for the third year consecutively, had been destroyed from the hailstorm. But three years of growing beging to teach something and the results begin to be all years better.
Today I take the leaves, destemmed it an put in poly-bag and then in the kiln.
The Litte Dutch leaves in very high case ready to be destemmed:

Last harvest of the year!
I stalk harvest 3 plants of sucker of Little Dutch that I let grow to see what happen. They come almost big as the original plants.
In my curing room the temperature had already dropped (at night outside about 5 C). So I will try the stalk harvest and let it curing in the sun hung on my balcony.
I will see how they cure and if another year it worth the hassle.
My Little Dutch stalk cured very well to a medium brown. But I don't have yet smoked it. I will let mature a few months and try it unkilned as I read somewhere that it's one of the few tobacco strain that can be cigar smoke without kiln them. The stem are still green after two months of the cut! This is the stalk retrieved to photograph for you.
