How does yellow 109 do?
Yields are less than half what Lemonka will give you.
Nicotine seems the same. Flavor is the same- mild tobacco, no throat hit.
I won’t be replanting Yellow-109.
The soil for the above plants was heavily watered with full strength triple-20 fertilizer.
Then only water, once a week after that.
Cared for by a family member known for their “black thumb”.
The window faces almost exactly west (269deg.), so only setting sun.
I know it is not de rigueur for orientals, but I topped them on April 26th. They simply have no more space.
I will harvest the Basma in 2+ weeks, depending on how the leaf looks. I’m hoping to get the Prilep to yellow on the stalk, as I’ve read a post or two that this made for super sweet smoking leaf, but with little varietal flavor. Sweetness is the goal, since I have Xanthi and normal Prilep, already, and no flue curing system.
