Hi alls! I'm back!

I moved last year for a little town and I'm living in an apartment now. I could not grow tobacco last year so.
This year, I decided to grow some plants indoor, at least for the simple pleasure of growing since I know I can't expect very good tobacco this way, although the light is good here and I'm exposed to the south.
I choosed only two strains, Prilep and Helena, and there will be no more than ten plants.

There is a collective garden right there, where I will cultivate veggies, if there is enough available space for me, I will add some tobacco plants and some more from another strain : Catterton.

Yesterday I sowed very few seeds of Prilep and Helena for the indoor session.
…to be continued…

Prilep should be a good choice for pot growing, it’s a small plant and should do well in containers. Don’t know about Helena, but Catterton surely needs a lot of space to show its full potential. Good luck with your gardening!

Thanks Pier.
Yes, Prilep is my source of hope! Helena is described as a fast ripening… I hope this caracteristic can help in that growing conditions. And the Cattereton will be planted in open ground (with others Prilep and Helena, according to the available outdoor space).

Pier, I remember you told me about Goose Creek Red in my 2017 grow blog, I'm finaly doing tests right now with this crop, not kilned but simply naturaly aged and yes, the upper stalk leaves of Goose Creek Red are already fine! I will post a review soon.

Good to see you back Youn,
I wish you good luck with your (small) crop !
As Pier and Bob said : Prilep should be fine in pots, it's a small plant ;)
You could try some Helena in pots too, I had some interesting restults with another bright leaf in pots in my first grow (the leaves are smaller, but more acidic even while air cured).

Thank you Charles.
Good to know that it worked for you, hope I can make my own VA lemon!!
If I'm limited to indoor only, it will be a VERY small crop! But I'm optimistic about the possibility of growing outdoor and maybe I can have more plants than I had in my first year growing after all.

Helena is an excellent strain of Bright leaf. I would grow it again for myself without hesitation. Give the plants as much space as you can as it can get quite large.

Your site is my main source for deciding which strain to grow, in combination with FTT :)
Thanks for the very useful informations given there!

...suitable for tobacco cultivation in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other Central European countries.
Very low nicotine light Virginia tobacco with a good, very light smoke flavor , basis for particularly light cigarette and pipe blends mostly with Burley and Oriental varieties.

That's a wonderful collection of pipes.

Bob

Since 2017 (when I started smoking pipe thanks to FTT members advises, with my unique nose warmer) I made a lot of pipes and restore some old ones… I have to share some of those in the dedicated thread.
