Escobar robusto. Nicaraguan puro. Nicaraguan habano filler, binder and ecuadorian habano wrapper. Supposed to be medium-full strength but i'm gonna say flat medium. The flavours are quite complex. Theres a little earth, some subtle spice, a little chocolate/cocoa, a touch of vanilla, hay and what i can only describe as asian herbs/spices? Overall not a bad smoke. 7/10

The different colored which changes from day to day... What are they and what do they symbolize? I know religious talk is prohibited so if you could just give me a direction I can Google that would be much appreciated

Kompoloi now is a personal item, helps you relax and think calmly, gives information about your status and artistic talent.
You don't pray with the kompoloi, the monks use different style with the Cross on it.

Mine are ''custom'' which means i buy the beads-cord-tassel, do some work in lathe machine plus with hand tools, each one is ''unique'' because are made in my requirements, you can find a similar in the market but 100% would not be the same.
As for Religion it's not a secret, first of all we are Greeks and the rest you can see it in our National flag and specifically in our Infantry flag. :)

First time smoking a special edition line cigar. Gurkha year of the snake (oscar valladares) honduran version. Nice smoke, not too big on gurkhas but this tastes just like a camacho tbh. Was £55 but the women in the cigar shop gave me a crazy discount and i got it for £20. Can't complain!

Dug into the very back and bottom of my humidor and found this lonely cuban deep in the deep dark depths. Trinidad coloniales. Its been a while since i smoked a decent cuban that was well constructed. Very nice smoke lasted about 1hr. As with all cubans It could've done with a few years of age. I believe it had been in the humidor for around 1 year. I will have to empty the humidor out and re-organize it soon, just to see what other suprises are waiting for me in there!

Given the superb quality of your home-rolled cigars, which you allowed me to sample, I can't imagine that any of those ribboned, multiply banded, commercial sticks are somehow better.

Bob
Appreciate the kind words Bob! You and a few others have seen the whole journey. I will 100% agree with you on home-rolled vs “premiums”. Home rolled always wins in my honest opinion. There is something to be said about putting it together yourself & understanding the process. Playing with blends like your a cook in the kitchen. Growing tobacco and understanding what’s in the soil, weather patterns that year that affect crop, harvesting, curing, etc. etc. I could go on and on.

Home rolled has another cool aspect, which is seeing how a blend can change pretty quickly. I may not be able to speak for everyone, but I think fresh rolled compared to 3 weeks rest, compared to 3 months rest, is always an interesting contrast. If you can wait that long!

Premium cigars I look at kinda like research. Different leaf combos and blends. Specific types of leaf or tobacco I like or want to try. I will say, very few “premium” cigars out there are really worth more than $15… shoot, even $10… I’d even dare say that not many are event worth $5 anymore. Marketing winning again here.

Home rolled will 100% always be the best! Doesn’t taste good, change it up.
Doesn’t burn well, understand what you did and adjust
Doesn’t look good, who TF cares! You made it, so set it on fire and enjoy!
