Would 1/2 a pound of Tobacco ever be available instead of a full pound? maybe just wrappers only? At least for me, it's the only obstacle in purchasing wrappers from WLT. 1/2 pound would make it quite a bit more acce$$ible. But wanted to see if it was 1) at all possible from Don's perspective financially and physically and 2) if anyone else would dig a 1/2 lb option.

Personally, Don's tobacco is so well picked and packaged with such quality that I tend to purchase a years supply at a time. The easiest route is to get the sampler, find out what you like then purchase what you need for the year at once to take advantage of the 10 dollars off, keep in mind there might even be a Black Friday special. No guarantees, but that is when I time my annual buy up.

I would never order a half pound. If I did, shipping would be more than the tobacco and I'll be right effed if after the farmer went to all that work and art and all the things to create an excellent product. and the warehouse (WLT) sorted and packaged it, that the big winners in the game are the people who put a sticker on a box, load a truck, drive, and drop it off at my house.

Dang, years supply would be rad! No where near possible for me ( as you could probably tell by the question, lol!) But will definitely be looking out for the Black Friday special, thanks!

Only thing I would order a half pound of if wrapper; maybe I should've specified that was were my head was at... but I agree with your points. Just SO nice to get 1/4 and 1/2 lb samples from LO, but quality just insnt there and would much rather WLT be my sole source, hence, I found it worth asking.

I would order 1/2 lb in some varieties if available and even if it was a little more in cost. Not everyone wants pounds upon pounds of tobacco sitting around especially when starting, or if it's a smaller fraction of one's blend. It was suggested to me that I add a 10% turkish to a blend that I want to try, but I certainly don't want a pound of turkish tobacco sitting around waiting for me to make 10 pounds of blend... especially if I find I'm not fond of it. I'm actually looking into ordering from leafonly because they will sell you 'samplers' in a 1/4 lb weight.. even if it is for a couple of $ more than 1/3lb would be.

I would personally love to have pounds of tobacco sitting around. As I'm sure many others here would also agree. The thing with good quality tobacco is, as it ages, it continues to get better. Therefore buying tobacco in surplus works to the smokers advantage both in regards to cost and quality. As an example, there was tobacco I puchased that I didn't enjoy so I wraped it up tightly and put in away for a few months. Later doown the road I pulled it out to try again and ended up loving it after it had a chance to mature.
Anyway, just food for thought.

I'm a homesteader/prepper. I hoard critical supplies. My business sales tanked in early January but I had spent months, years actually, stockpiling and hoarding for a catastophe, or a rainy day, and so, I can easily tighten the belt and get by paying the cash bills, like utilities, until sales pick up again. I've got about 30 pounds of lovely WLT leaves stashed on my pantry shelves. The unopened packages will age as they sit there, but the 5 kilo bag of threshed lemon bright is a fantastic deal and forms the base of my blends. I'm really glad I tried it this year. I have several pounds of various Turkish leaf and almost a pound of Latakia, because I like to switch things up each time I shred a new blend. I planned ahead for months before the black Friday sale last Fall, to save up and afford a years worth of leaf and achieve total tobacco independence and proudly evade all the taxes. Yeah, its work, shredding leaves once a week or more, and stuffing tubes every day, but I've already saved almost a thousand dollars since Thanksgiving alone, and it doesn't take up much time. Ive been doing it for 18 months now, and even American Spirits taste inferior to my own. I know a few people here in town who also make their own, but they buy that disgusting Gambler shredded stuff at the convenience store, at astronimical prices. The commitment to shredding my own leaves and stuffing tubes was a fInancial no brainer, not to mention knowing exactly what I am and not smoking, free of unknown additives and chemicals. Like any hobby or business, there is a cost to get set up to do it on a serious level, but the cost is recovered quickly. I also got a cigar kit to learn with. Haven't played with that, yet, but I will, soon. I understand wanting to sample thing in smaller quantities, and there is the 9 types sample leaf offering by WLT, but the whole purpose behind my leaf purchases is large quanities, bulk, and stockpiling the leaves I like to smoke. I'm holding on until things improve and am thankful I was prepared.

My idea is this: have a 3-6 packet 1/4-1/2 # bundle that folks can insert their own choices... with a sliding price scale if some of the more pricy tobaccos are chosen. Suppose someone wants to check out some of the different turkish/oriental tobacco or burleys?
I did look into the 8 type tobacco pack, but considered that then I would be stuck with 2.5# of tobacco that would be on the lower side of percentages of what I'd probably want in my cigarettes, which will be at least 70% of bright, lemon and red. ******
