Hey guys, I hope you are all doing well?
My outdoor grow this year has been going really well so far however have hit a bit of a problem.. I think!
My plants (6) has been grown completely by the sun by being placed in a sunny window sill. Two of them got quite big so I decided to transplant into final pots and put into the garden yesterday. They looked happy all day yesterday and had about 8 hours daylight. This morning, they still seemed happy but once the sun got to them, they drooped a lot! What do you think the problem maybe?
I did fertilise them after transplanting with small amount of miracle gro.
Do you think they will recover?

Thanks guys and sorry for the late reply
No I diddnt move them gradually, school boy error ;)
I have since moved them outside but in complete shade throughout the day, they have perked right up. I plan to move them to only morning sun next week and then the following week to full sun - if any issues with this plan, please let me know better suggestions :)

Also, I am growing this year in coco which I am told to use hydro fertiliser so I got sensi ab grow. This is all well and good but I wonder what I need to do if the plants are watered by the rain? Do I just continue to fertilise when they need watering or just keep this to a once a week/month thing?

Cheers

When you use that fertilizer you should flush with plain water every 2-3 watering anyways so just get as close as possible to that type of schedule anyways using rain as your flush

depending on the makeup of the water you are using, you may find you need to augment the calcium and magnesium throughout the grow. This should only be needed towards the second half. Make sure your water is 5.8-6.2ph AFTER adding your fertilizer for best results. Dont ever move to the second 1/2 of the schedule on the bottle. You will stay at the last veg week throughout once you get there

Just noticed the coco (which is great). I hope you mixed it with perlite to provide root airspace. I cant see it in your mix (should be about 40% or so)

your sensi grow claims to account for the calcium and magnesium so you should be good throughout although i have no personal experience with this product

I only mixed the starting pot with perlite and ran out so decided to just do the new pot with coco.
And okay thanks, when to feed around rain?

The pots are unusual. What has been your experience with them?

Hey Bob,

Yes, very unusual. Last grow I did (my first one) I used fabric pots and it turned out okay. Too bad I grew indoors with a rubbish light so it was very stunted.
I saw and read about 'air' pots and liked the fact they encourage more air/oxygen to the roots than traditional pots.
I was going to buy them but seemed quite expensive... until I found someone selling on the Facebook market place, 7 for £10! Snatched them up right away!
So this is my first grow using these so will let you know how it goes in this blog :)

No - feed when no rain - flush with rain

just coco may be too heavy/ water retaining. Let us know
Okay great, I will let you know how I get on, plants seem to be loving it at the moment, if I start seeing issues, would it be advised to mix the coco with perlite and pick the roots away from current only coco? Sounds risky to me :)

Cheers for your replies guys

Sounds risky for me too. Id leave it and just water less if you are seeing water logged symptoms. Next time get enough perlite lol

Hey guys! Had awful wet weather at the moment, putting the plants in my shed seems to be a bad idea! I have loads of bite marks from snails and they even managed to eat my biggest leaf from the steam!! I use slug and snail killer but obviously doesn't work! Will my plant be okay with bite marks and a whole leaf gone??
Thanks

The plant itself will be fine, you will just lose whatever they ate. Bud worms eat the growth tip and you have to let the top sucker grow into a new stalk. Wire worms make a hole inside the stalk from the root/ground area and can kill a whole plant from the inside.
Do you guys have hornworms where you live? Look underneath each leaf and make sure that snails are your only pest. Hornworms can consume a lot of leaf in just a little while. They are the same color green as the leaf and can be hard to spot sometimes.
