Building a humidor

Put the first coat of Danish oil on it thismorning, still a couple more coats to go. Then I plan on putting a bees wax sealer overtop of it. I decided to stay away from the polys and varnishes, after reading up on different ways to make the black walnut look good. I didn't do anything to the inside since I plan on coating it with some sort of wood eventually.. If I can ever decide how to finish the inside. Plus my limited funds...between my fishing and smoking and drinking habits... So for now I will be a bedside table

Im also having a hard time deciding on a handle. So until I find the right one I will just continue to use the piece of tape!

Make some large Walnut handles to cover the patch job on the doors. Looks like they're even.

If you are looking to line with Spanish cedar, old cigar boxes can be broken down, and many manufactures use unvarnished boxes. You may find them fairly inexpensively at your local cigar shop.....if you're lucky enough to have one in your area that is.

Thanks for the tip ash, I might end up doing that.. I kind of like the 2 spots knuck. Reminds me of a pair of eyes but thanks for the suggestion

LOL. I see what you mean about the face now. With an aura around it.

My wife thinks it looks more like a lion. She thinks its just and end table.. I never told her I plan on. Making it my humidor.. Whoops

I see the lion, too. The "aura" is the mane. It's like two or three people looking at the same cloud and seeing different shapes.
