So is suppose there might already be a post for this, but I'm wondering if anyone has a few blend recipes they liked with the various kits from Whole Leaf Tobacco. I watched Bliss Cigar's/waikkigun's YT video on the Azucarado "implied blend". But perhaps there are a few other blends that could be made well from the various blends. Anything you felt just nailed it on the kits? I think the kits will be my way to go for a while as I start this journey. Thanks!

I haven't used the kit and the varieties aren't listed on the website. If you could list the varieties in the kit you may get more responses from members that are familiar with the separate leaf or has worked up there own blend using those same varieties. Bliss has some excllent tutorials. (y)

With WLT I don’t think you can make a wrong choice. Pick the kit that most resembles what your normal preference is and start there. Don’t get hung up on convention. Do like Wakkigun’s video, experiment. If you find a nice filler leaf that is in good condition and you can use it as a binder or wrapper then do it. You may want to make a small puro from each type of leaf so you can get a feel for what it brings to the party. Most important is to take notes about each blend you design and write it down. Nothing worse than finding that magical combo and then not remembering what went into the blend. Also don’t get hung up on how many cigars you roll from each kit. With todays prices, even if you only get 5 it’s a bargain compared to B&M prices!

Thank you. For my Terroso Profundo kit I got:
  • Filler:
    • CV Rene Ligero 2 oz
    • Paraguay Flojo Viso 4 oz
    • Dominican O'lor Seco 2 oz
  • Binder: Dominican O'lor Binder 2 oz
  • Wrapper: Ecuador Maduro Wrapper (no weight designation but was enough leaf to roll a little more than 20 cigars.)
I tried different filler combinations and took notes, but haven't smoked any yet other than the very last one--a little short fill which was an amazing earthy, spicy, woody smoke.

I'm going to get another kit of the same kind with an aim towards a single blend (that is good to smoke) and a consistent vitola, so that I have a batch to pass out at my next smoke with buddies (could be up to 10 cigars I'm handing out).
