My family has really enjoyed having the flowering tobacco around.

Thar she blows! Topped about 6 plants so far. Some seemed to grow nearly a foot since the last post. I wish this stage of massive tobacco plants lasted longer. I look out of my window in the morning and on lunch breaks with much pride and really enjoy strolling around and through them. But there will be more seasons to come! I've taught my 3 year old daughter how and where to look for hornworms and she found and 'deaded' (as she says) 3 of them. We'll be doing that every day after breakfast or around lunch time.

Both Corojo and Criollo have (I think) a little more time before harvesting to color cure. Thought I would share where they are and see what you all think. Tips are juuuusst barely starting to yellow.

Jasmine stretching out to get as much sunlight as possible at 2:45pm today. I love this variety. I think it's beautiful. I will try to grow some every year.

And behind it, a nearly entirely full-shade grown Criollo. Had a few extra and stuck it hear to see what it would do. It gets maybe 3 1/2 hours of sun.
All the other flowers are from our previous home. We had a significant perennial garden. We gave almost all of the plants away to various friends, pickup beds full of flowers, and took a few remaining for ourselves (seen here).

This nearly-entirely shade grown Corojo has been smooth to the touch until this last week and is now incredibly sticky and has shot up about a foot in the last couple weeks to now about7feet tall. It gets sun from about 7:30 till 11:30. Another interesting thing about it: no bug damage. Would make a good LOOKING wrapper but I don’t know about the taste…
