Habana 2000

Has anybody sun grown Habana 2000 and Criollo 98 as wrappers, and if so how did they perform as wrappers. Still can`t decide if I must shade grow my wrappers.

I don't think it's necessary to grow those two wrappers under shade, although some of it IS grown under shade. Shade tent will give you thinner and lighter leaves.

I guess that's only for wrappers, but then again, maybe he should try it both ways to see which he prefers best?

I would maybe try it both shade and sun except that it is a real PITA to make a shade tent.

Good point! I wonder if the Habana 2000 would be closer to Habano if grown in the sun.?

If grown in the sun it will definitely be stronger and tastier, with good ligero. It's grown under shade if it is to be wrapper but I bet it's good anywhere in a cigar.

I definitely love it as a Wrapper, and what little scraps I have, make good filler, kind of a mild almond taste with some woody notes. I'm going to try that myself in my next year's grow. Thanks for the tip!
