Thank you all. I just returned from my brother's house. A real birthday party, with cake. It was a total of 4 of us, all vaccinated for Covid. No masks. Real people. Real conversations. Wonderful grilled dinner on the back patio. Though they live only about 15 miles away, I haven't seen them for over a year. I enjoyed the gathering.

Ah. Our measurement of the "passage" of time. Congratulations to all of you who, along with me, grew roughly a day older over the same interval. (The faster you move, relative to the rest of us, the slower time passes for you. So if you live at high altitude, or happen to be on the International Space Station, your aging is falling a bit behind the bulk of us. Sorry about that. On the bright side, your pandemic "year" hasn't lasted quite as long.)
