Look through the cigar sub forum, there's a thread on home made cigar tools. I made my first one from a curved cabinet scraper. All I had to do was sharpen it. Great steel. I can't remember where I posted the pictures though. I'll get another picture of it next time I'm in the basement.

Hey knucks..I agree those cabinet scrapers or cake making tools work just as well once you get the edge you want on them..the other one I have is made by scanpan but has a handle also

Don, looks great. Minor suggestion: I think the points at the ends are normally sharpened, the small curve being used to cut "flags" for capping.

Correct. This is the first knife sharpened for testing purposes. The rest of the knives will be sharpened 3/4 of the way around the sides.

I'm also having another batch made with a thinner blade that will not have the radius cut on one side. I think this pointed tip will make the knife more versatile by giving the user options.

Don, you may have already thought of this...but be sure to have imprinted, Whole Leaf..., WLT or FTT's web address...or your logo...something! I think anything made "today" should be printed with something that can be looked up online.

They're always made for fat guys.

Boy the real deal is expensive though. I can find poly cotton for cheap, but that wouldn't work. Sposed to be linen to keep cool. Linen costs a ton. Even all cotton are forty bucks. Still looking for custom.

They look goofy.
